For maybe the fourth or fifth time in history, Lorri and I had a night alone together without the kids. We hired a friend to watch the kids for a day and night and then headed north to the big city, Seoul. For the most part, the trip was an excuse to eat at as many restaurants as we could. To that end, we had lunch on Friday at a Bulgarian restaurant (Zelen's) in Itaewon, the international district in Seoul. After some wandering, snacking, and an afternoon nap, we had dinner at a French restaurant (Le Saint-Ex) before finishing the evening with a few friends at a local brew pub (Craftworks). On Saturday, we joined the Seoul Flyers running club for a 10k race. After showering and having a coffee, we jumped on the subway and headed to Oktoberfest, a restaurant in the Gangnam district, where Kevin entered two of his home brews in a home-brewing contest. Despite there being over 60 entries, Kevin's IPA took second place in the Pale Ale/IPA category.
While we missed the kids terribly, it was fantastic having some "us" time away.

Congrats to both of you for running the 10k and for 2nd place in the beer contest, Kevin. Not sure if I would have called the escargot delicious but applaude your courage in trying new and exciting foods!
